Santosh Karmacharya, a native of Nepal, embodies the unique blend of Eastern healing arts and Western science knowledge that is the hallmark of his centers, Oriental Medicine (OM) and NAMO Yoga Studio.
Initially earning a business degree to satisfy the Nepalese tradition of following in his father’s footsteps, Santosh later followed his heart to enroll in acupuncture school in Kathmandu and Japan. Motivated by his curiosity about the human body and its workings, he studied biomechanics, physiology and anatomy extensively.
After receiving his Masters degree in Oriental Medicine, Santosh then opened a successful Acupuncture/ Bodywork clinic in Katmandu, and became well known among Americans there. With the help of the Ambassador and some teachers from the Lincoln school, Santosh came to America.
After meeting and marrying Sachie, he began his practice by helping the Nepali community in Boston, using acupuncture and tips on healthy living. With the help of his wife, he joined Oriental Medicine in early 2003, where he still practices bodywork. He also provides advanced continuing education to yoga instructors and therapeutic professionals.
