Vito Politano

Vito Politano

Vito strives to inform his teaching through regular study and training of Yoga, anatomy, physiology and bodywork.  Vito’s 200 hour trainings include study with Natasha Rizopoulos in the YogaWorks method, and most recently with David Magone in the Pranavayu method.  Additional trainings include study with Ana Forrest, Seane Corn, Ellen Heed, Santosh Karmacharya and Tom Myers.  To better understand and work with the body to provide a deeper level of healing, Vito completed his Level 1 certification training in Thai Yoga Massage with Shai Plonski through the Lotus Palm School.

Vito's Schedule

Like many people it took an injury – a neck strain in this case– to get Vito to do yoga.  Vito accepted his first teaching opportunity with great trepidation in 2007 while working full-time in non-profit management and serving as a trained Baptiste Power Yoga assistant.  A desire to teach and share his passion for Yoga and its many benefits also meant having to face a debilitating fear of public speaking.  Transforming this personal challenge also served as a catalyst to taking this leap and sharing the joys of practice.

Vito is now grateful, humbled and inspired to teach yoga and provide Thai Yoga Bodywork full-time in order to share these powerful and healing evolutionary practices.  Vito is a caring instructor who teaches mindful and challenging classes with a strong connection to alignment, breath, and core.  His attention on safety and therapeutics enable students to open body, heart, and mind in a deep and sustainable way.

In addition to more dynamic flow classes, he also loves to share his passion for practice using an Iyengar-inspired Yoga Wall (a.k.a.: Karunta yoga – yoga with straps and harnesses) through weekly classes and monthly workshops.  Vito has taught in a variety of populations and settings including corporate offices, high schools, dance schools, and a nursing home.
